A blue and white porcelain brush pot (bitong)
Height: 6 1/4 in, 15.8 cm
Painted with an official, seated on a chair in front of a large screen, beneath a parasol held by a male attendant, and accompanied by four female attendants, watching two young women dancing to an orchestra of four women, all on a terrace. The scene is divided by rocks and banana plants. A small recessed circle on the base is painted with an apocryphal Chenghua mark.
Formerly in a European private collection.
