Jade vase and cover
Height: 11 1/2 in, 29.3 cm
of rectangular section, the sides flare from a spreading foot and turn inwards to a waisted neck with two loop handles, suspending loose rings, issuing from animal heads. The domed cover is surmounted by a stepped finial. The two main faces of the body are each worked in relief with a flowering prunus and a smaller flowering plant issuing from rockwork, beneath an animal mask with a fixed ring in high relief, and between bands of key-fret at the rims. The cover is similarly worked with prunus and a key-fret band. The stone is a celadon-green tone with russet markings.
